(1.) "Δεῦτε πρός με" - A prophecy of a new interpretation of the old Shabbat command that unifies the post-resurrection community of Jesus followers, both Jews and Gentiles, into one new entity. (2.) "πάντες οἱ κοπιῶντες καὶ πεφορτισμένοι" - A contrast between young boys under Moses and the improved speaking, thinking, and reasoning abilities of grown men under Christ. (3.) "κἀγὼ ἀναπαύσω ὑμᾶς" - A promise of true freedom transitioning from the imperfect to the perfect, from not knowing to knowing, moving from the shadow of Moses into the light of Christ. (4.) "ἄρατε τὸν ζυγόν μου ἐφ’ ὑμᾶς" - The perfect state is achieved when we see clearly and intentionally, focusing on Jesus and taking up the cross to follow Him. (5.) "καὶ μάθετε ἀπ’ ἐμοu" - A comparison as stark as night and day, black and white, shadow and reality, with the tabernacle in the wilderness representing the shadow of the New Testament church in its fullness. (6.) "ὅτι πραΰς εἰμι καὶ ταπεινὸς τῇ καρδίᾳ," - Description of the maturing body, transitioning from unsaved loved ones to unloved saved ones. (7.) "καὶ εὑρήσετε ἀνάπαυσιν ταῖς ψυχαῖς ὑμῶν·" - The final state of the church overcoming passivity, boredom, and unemployment. What we will become is still not fully understood and is both in the present and the future.
