Higher Order Lateral Thinking
When dealing with hard problems, we need to think creatively. Here's a five-step plan:
- Anticipate: Try to predict problems and get ready for them. Gather as much information as you can. The better your plans are, the safer you'll be in hard times.
- Navigate: Work through the problem using tools and strategies. Experience and teamwork can help stop the problem from getting worse.
- Communicate: Talk clearly about the problem with everyone involved. Each right decision can help correct a wrong direction.
- Educate: Tell others about the problem, what it does, and how to lessen its effects.
- Evaluate: Check how well your actions worked and learn for the future.
It's also important to stay aware of what's happening, especially when stressed. This can be done by following these steps:
- Assess: Begin by understanding the situation at hand. This involves gathering all the necessary and relevant information to gain a comprehensive view of the scenario.
- Discern: Once you've collected ample information, the next step is to sift through it. Analyze the details, identify patterns, and figure out what aspects are of utmost importance.
- Gain Clarity: In situations where the information is complex and hard to grasp, take the time to simplify it. Break down complex information into understandable parts. This will help in making informed decisions.
- Focus: After understanding the situation and gaining clarity, determine where your attention is needed the most. Prioritize these areas and concentrate your efforts there.
These steps can help people deal with hard situations better and take control quicker.
