My history with your country goes back to the mid-90’s, it’s a long story that involves the Illongo people groups in Iloilo and the churches we planted with ex-OFW’s returning home to their country of origin as ex-Singapore domestics.

These returnees wanted an Oikos in their backyard, to pioneer among the children and old folk in the barrios left behind in the brain drain of the ‘80s and ‘90s when millions passed through the POEA office in Manila. They still do.

So we appointed some captains of 50 and 100’s who went to bible school in Antipolo and graduated into this position.

Thus has Oikos Associates Trust House (OATH Inc,. Rev. Tess Wieteska, President’s Office) been in operation since 2003. My very first Study trip was in the Black West revivals under the leadership of the late great Armando “Bansoy” Campos of Pontevdra, Neg. Occ.

Our Chancellor Rev Dr Mike Wieteska has fond memories of those early days as he too was founding the work in Sariaya under the leadership of Rev Jojo Flores and the CCLS team which led to the development of the “Pistang Kristiyano” that occurs every May Day in those parts. What a privilege to play a very small part in the stories God is telling in the outlier communities where Jesus is known and loved.

The captains that we have today in the College are more like digital “mayors” playing the role of executives in senior administration under the Gen. Sec. coordinating with my office as President, King’s College Singapore.

I’ve used some AI to draft out the job descriptions of our new Oikos Associates who will thus serve to widen the net into the various cities and towns that I wish to visit, including NCR (Neziel, Alma, AnnieFe, Tracy, et al), Davao in the south (Lagumbay, Mancano, Laluna) and Baguio in the north (Ria, Feve, etc)

Your country is too big, but our God is bigger.
