In the "Blindspots" section, Paul identifies seven blindspots beginning with original sin at the fall and ending with the original endowments restored in Christ. These blindspots include filthy language, lying, rage, idolatry, malice, anger, and blasphemy. Paul uses these lists to debunk myths and expose the truth about certain behaviors and beliefs.
According to Paul at Colossae - the 7 blindspots beginning with original sin at the fall and ending with the original endowments restored in Christ
It’s all about you, but you are not what it’s all about
Blindspots - evidence of original sin
(1.) IST - filthy language (αἰσχρολογίαν) - busting the myth of tribalism (the imagined power of “we” and group think, blind leading the blind,
(2.) ELE - lying (ψεύδεσθε) - debunking the myth of unconditional love (self-deceived narcissism, hyper-grace, unlimited atonement, irresistible grace, once saved always saved,
(3.) DID - rage (θυμόν) - uncovering the myth of the shylock profile (antisemitic default, final solution, book burning, higher criticism, tunnel vision)
(4.) PRO - idolatry (εἰδωλολατρία) - exposing the myth of the cultic masterplan (religious spirit of jezebel, closed universe, denying the supernatural, natural selection theory, secular humanism, pan-sexuality,
(5.) PAR - malice (κακίαν) - dismantling the myth of homogeneity (us vs them polemic, zero sum game, ethnocentricity, prejudice and discrimination)
(6.) DEA - anger (ὀργήν) - dispelling the myth of self-mastery (perfecting the flesh, gospel of self-improvement, self-help therapies and programs, DIY / works salvation, medieval indulgence, penance and purgatory, self-flagellation, suicide, homicide, self-harm, anorexia, )
(7.) MET - blasphemy (βλασφημίαν) - overturning the myth of unconscious bias (resourcing evil, denying Jesus came in the flesh or the bodily resurrection)
The remnant of the last day family of God awaits the return of Christ to deliver them into the kingdom of light where the 7-headed anti-christ from the abyss no longer can touch or molest, “where there is neither Greek nor Jew, circumcision and uncircumcision, barbarian, Scythian, slave or free, but Christ is all in all” (Col 3:11)
