Life, Learning, and Futures at the Seminary Gate
Oikos in Geylang is a contextual education and formation ecology where life, learning, and futures are held together in one pastoral field. Co-located at the Father’s House, S(389245) and the Potter’s House, S(389247), the Seminary Gate serves as a household-scale, city-facing, and nations-aware learning community: a place where people experience God, learn how to pass that life on, and discern faithful futures through supervised practice.

At the Seminary Gate, life begins with encounter — to experience God and pass it on through household, worship, work, service, and intergenerational witness. Learning is contextual: church, seminary, family, neighbourhood, marketplace, and the nations become one integrated classroom. Futures are formed through duty of care: helping gifted individuals discover genius by modalities, so that calling is named, character is formed, talent is stewarded, and public fruit can emerge across multiple geographies, time zones, and talent zones.
This is Oikos’ contribution from Singapore as a City of Faith — a Galilee-among-the-nations — where Jesus is known and loved in an intergenerational, third-cultural setting, and where formation is designed not merely to inform learners, but to shape whole persons, households, leaders, and communities for faithful service.

Oikos in Geylang is a church-based formation and mission ecosystem that has grown over three decades (since 1992). Today it functions as a local Family Gate community and a regional Seminary Gate hub, resourcing partners across the Indo–Asia Pacific through cohorts, courseware, and supervised practice.
