1. Chairman’s overview

Since its registration in November 1992, The Oikos Fellowship has pursued a consistent vision: “experience God’s love and pass it on.” Its mission is to raise shepherds, not merely sheep, and spiritual fathers, not merely tutors—equipping people to receive responsibility for others and transmit faith, wisdom and care across generations.

Over the ensuing decades, this household vision has developed into an integrated ministry of family formation, cross-cultural mission, theological education and neighbourly service. Its continuity may be expressed as constitution → embodied presence → formation → generative service: a registered fellowship becoming a Geylang mission base and a distributed church–seminary–community ecosystem.

2. Constitutional purpose and stewardship

The Fellowship’s constitutional objects encompass gospel proclamation; fellowship, prayer, instruction and discipleship; spiritual gifts; charitable welfare; relief of the sick, poor and needy; and Christian education.

The current workspace constitutional text also includes King’s College Seminary and arrangements for organisational structure and seminary governance. AGM33 materials identify these arrangements as amendments presented in February 2026. They should not be represented as provisions unchanged since 1992. Before submission, the Secretary should reconcile this report with the adopted minutes and operative constitution sanctioned by ROS; regulatory sanction of the amendments has not been verified for this draft.

Spiritual and academic commissioning does not replace the responsibilities of the Fellowship’s elected Committee, general meeting, office-bearers or applicable statutory obligations.

3. Four-gate ministry framework

The Fellowship applies the lion, ox, eagle and man as a symbolic ministry framework informed by Ephesians 4:11: apostle, pastor–teacher, prophet and evangelist. The gate assignments below describe complementary functional emphases rather than exclusive offices or jurisdictions. Each ministry contributes across all four gates.

Gate and functional emphasis Embodiment of vision and mission Scale and generative contribution
Family Gate — Ox: pastor–teacher “Experience God’s love and pass it on”; “raising shepherds not sheep”; “fathers not tutors.” Household worship, discipleship, pastoral care and intergenerational mentoring. Person → household → emerging shepherd. Belonging matures into responsibility, enabling people to care for, teach and form others.
Nations Gate — Lion: apostle Ministry among foreign domestic workers, migrants and non-local communities; returnee preparation; compassionate engagement with trafficking survivors and vulnerable people in Geylang’s street and brothel communities. Singapore receiving base → returnee households → indigenous communities. Formation travels through local relationships, contextual teaching and partnerships rather than permanent dependence on Singapore.
Seminary Gate — Eagle: prophet, supported by the teaching Ox Hebraic roots of the New Testament; School of Ministry; Secret Gardens; DAVT non-Levitical ordination; 7modalities.com; King’s College Seminary and MA formation. Helping gifted individuals discover genius through modalities. Gift → disciplined formation → scholarship → accountable commissioning. Contextual learning produces courseware, research, ministry placements and governance responsibilities. In obscuro cum privilegio expresses the privilege of obscurity: faithful service without self-promotion.
Neighbours Gate — Man: evangelist Geylang and Neighbours Pottery Studios; Kingdom business ecosystem; Café389 hospitality; support for fathering movements, including “Dad is good all the time,” Mighty Man Camps and Sonship Legacy; Global Expeditionary Awards. Neighbourly encounter → shared work and trust → vocation and public contribution. Craft, hospitality, enterprise and fathering provide relational settings for witness and service. Awards recognise gifts becoming contributions for others.

These gates are interdependent. Fathering initiatives bridge Family and Neighbours; returnee preparation joins Nations and Seminary; craft and enterprise connect learning with public service.
