Duty of Care: A Biblical Framework for Governance

Governors and Regents in this fellowship bear a sacred duty of care rooted in the biblical mandate of Proverbs 24:27: "Prepare your work outside; get everything ready for yourself in the field, and after that build your house." This principle calls leaders to steward life, learning, and futures with diligent preparation and wise foresight, ensuring that foundations are properly laid before building up the community.

Community Focus Hermeneutic

Following the apostolic instruction in 1 Corinthians 14:26—"When you come together, each one has a hymn, a lesson, a revelation, a tongue, or an interpretation. Let all things be done for building up"—our governance model centers on communal edification. Every decision, policy, and initiative must serve the collective flourishing of the fellowship, ensuring that diverse gifts contribute to the common good.

Modal Excellence Framework (Romans 12:6-8)

Board members locate their service within the Romans 12:6-8 framework, which identifies seven distinct modes of excellence:

Seven Seasons of Life (Ecclesiastes 3:1-8)

This duty of care extends across all seven seasons of life, acknowledging that "for everything there is a season, and a time for every matter under heaven." Governors and Regents commit to:

  1. Discovery Season: Nurturing exploration, calling, and vocational discernment in emerging leaders
  2. Service Season: Supporting active ministry and community contribution during prime years
  3. Learning Season: Facilitating continuous education and skill development across all life stages
