Grateful to God for giving us the privilege of discernment and prophecy as we come together today which is the dawn of a new day. Glad also to connect you today with Dr Mike Wieteska, a father of faith in the international communities in the city of Geneva where he pioneered pentecost for over 40 years ago.
Recently I was on the 11th floor of the National Library overlooking the Bencoolen Street vicinity where I am told my great grandfather “John” was given shelter by Catholic missionaries back in the mid-1850’s when the MEP (french-speaking) missionaries had come to set up shop in Singapore for on Paris.
From the vantage point of the Lee Kong Chian Library, I took this quick shot of the historic St. Joseph (RC) church dwarfed by more recent housing projects that now dominate the skyline.
Couldn’t help but be amazed how we’ve grown as a nation and as a people having pulled away from the rest of Asia as an education hub, a centre for robotics and med tech, a leader in fintech, growing leaders in almost every field from agro-farming to STEM-based science for future aerospace travel.
I keep hearing the Spirit asking even as I was rummaging through some old manuscripts on Singapore’s church history. How will we be able to manage the growth from success, money and opportunities that come our way in this increasingly complex, human and technocratic society where Jesus is known and loved?

New groups such as Dad’s For Life and Center For Fathering are expressing ancient paths in fresh and contemporary forms. No longer content to reach “men” in the marketplace, the new “fathering” movements have taken up forward positions to impact a future Singapore as a gateway into Asia.
As we celebrate your Ordination today, we concentrate our prayers in support of the work of the Holy Spirit among the fathers, the boys, the sons and the husbands, single fathers, foster fathers, spiritual fathers.
<aside> 💡 “Do you want to be great? Turn your heart toward your children, because greatness is defined by service. Do you want to do something profound? Turn your heart toward your children, because the profound is often discovered in the simple. Do you want to change the world? Turn your kart toward your children; for just as the hand that rocks the cradle rules de world, men now have the opportunity to rock the cradle. Do you want dodo something to honor God? Turn your heart toward your children, then reach out to a child who is fatherless” - Ken Canfield, “The Heart of a Father - How you can become a Dad of Father”

The word that comes to mind: “Don’t lose the plot” don’t let your success, your surpluses, your increasing influence over nations get in the way of greater works. This is not the end but a new beginning of a thousand-fold blessing (Deut 1:11) that proceeds from the mouth of God.
