Ζῶν γὰρ ὁ λόγος τοῦ Θεοῦ καὶ ἐνεργὴς καὶ τομώτερος ὑπὲρ πᾶσαν μάχαιραν δίστομον καὶ διϊκνούμενος ἄχρι μερισμοῦ ψυχῆς καὶ πνεύματος, ἁρμῶν τε καὶ μυελῶν, καὶ κριτικὸς ἐνθυμήσεων καὶ ἐννοιῶν καρδίας· καὶ οὐκ ἔστιν κτίσις ἀφανὴς ἐνώπιον αὐτοῦ, πάντα δὲ γυμνὰ καὶ τετραχηλισμένα τοῖς ὀφθαλμοῖς αὐτοῦ, πρὸς ὃν ἡμῖν ὁ λόγος.

2. kai tomoteros huper pasan machairan distomon (and sharper than any two-edged sword),
3. kai diiknoumenos achri merismou (penetrating as far as the division)
4. psyche kai pneumatos (soul and spirit),
5. harmon te kai muelon, (joints and marrow),
6. kai kritikos (and judging)
7. enthumeseon kai ennoion kardias (the heart’s thoughts and intentions);
8. kai ouk estin ktisis, aphanes enopion autou, (there is no creature hidden before him,
9. panta de gumna kai tetrachelismena tais ophthalmois autou, pros hon hemin ho logos. (for all things are naked and laid bare before his eyes, to whom is the (same) Word.
