Overview:

The Oikos Fellowship is a distinguished organization dedicated to fostering academic excellence, spiritual growth, and community engagement among its members. The Board Member will play a crucial role in governing the Fellowship and overseeing the operations and strategic direction of King’s College Singapore at the Seminary Gate. This position requires a dedicated individual who possesses a deep commitment to the values of the Oikos Fellowship and the mission of King’s College.

Key Responsibilities:

Governance:

Participate actively in Board meetings, providing insights and recommendations that align with the strategic goals of the Oikos Fellowship. Ensure compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements, as well as adherence to the Fellowship's bylaws and policies. Contribute to the development and review of organizational policies and procedures to promote transparency and accountability.

Strategic Oversight:

Collaborate with fellow Board members to establish long-term goals and objectives for the Oikos Fellowship and King’s College Singapore. Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of programs and initiatives, providing constructive feedback to enhance their impact. Engage in strategic planning sessions to identify opportunities for growth and improvement within the Fellowship and the College.

Regency Responsibilities:

Serve as a liaison between the Board and the administration of King’s College Singapore, facilitating communication and collaboration. Oversee the implementation of academic and extracurricular programs that align with the mission of the College and the values of the Oikos Fellowship. Advocate for the needs and interests of students, faculty, and staff, ensuring their voices are heard in Board discussions.

Community Engagement:

Foster relationships with alumni, donors, and community stakeholders to enhance the Fellowship’s reputation and secure financial support. Promote the mission and activities of the Oikos Fellowship within the broader community, encouraging participation and collaboration. Organize and participate in events that strengthen community ties and promote the values of the Fellowship.

Financial Oversight:

Review and approve the annual budget and financial statements, ensuring the responsible management of the Fellowship’s resources. Participate in fundraising efforts, identifying potential sources of funding and developing strategies to secure financial support. Monitor financial performance and ensure that the Fellowship operates within its budgetary constraints.

Advocacy and Representation:

Represent the Oikos Fellowship at public events, conferences, and meetings, articulating its mission and goals to diverse audiences. Serve as an ambassador for King’s College Singapore, promoting its academic programs and community initiatives. Engage with local, national, and international organizations to build partnerships that advance the goals of the Fellowship and the College.

Qualifications:

A strong commitment to the mission and values of the Oikos Fellowship and King’s College Singapore. Proven experience in governance, preferably in a non-profit or educational setting. Exceptional leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen understanding of strategic planning and organisational development. Financial literacy, with experience in budget management and fundraising. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to articulate complex ideas clearly and persuasively.
