The director promotes best teaching practices, supports faculty in course content creation, ensures KC standards are met in the usage of Canvas, and manages the thesis process for Master's students. They also develop and maintain relationships with institutional partners, and implement and manage the online LMS system to assess students' formational learning outcomes. The role requires a Master's degree in a related field, experience with Canvas and in developing online courses, and a commitment to KC’s vision, purpose, and values.

Job Summary:

The Director of Academic Formation provides instructional design and logistical support for all modalities, including academic partnerships, to students and faculty and oversees the advising of the Master's level students.

Primary Duties:

Instructional Design

·         Promote best practices for teaching and learning in all modalities (residential and online seminary programs)

·         Support residential and adjunct faculty with instructional design in creation of course content working collaboratively with our media arts dept / external vendor.

·         Ensure the usage of Canvas by residential and adjunct faculty meets KC standards for residential and online seminary programs.

·         Gather, review, and file course syllabi for all courses (Notion, SIS/LMS, et al.)

Coordinate Congregational Based Partnerships

·         Develop and maintain relationships with current and potential institutional partners

·         Enlist, train, and support mentors including teachers assistants

Oversee Advising for Master's Level Programs

·         Coordinate academic advising
