Job Summary:  The Receptionist is often the first point of contact for people who call or visit the campus.  As such, the Receptionist must be prepared to triage a wide range of inquiries and requests and proactively address issues as they arise without assistance of the administration.  The receptionist must be able to effectively communicate information via phone, in writing, and in person.  The Receptionist also serves as the Administrative Assistant to a variety of staff members.

Primary Duties - Receptionist:

·         Answer incoming phone calls and receive in-person visitors;

·         Sort and distribute incoming mail;

·         Handle inquiries from internal and external community;

·         Record messages for faculty, staff, and students;

·         Keep staff and faculty attendance record;

·         Produce ID cards and name tags for faculty, staff, students, and essential visitors;

·         Maintain employee information including emergency contacts and parking permits;

·         Maintain mailboxes for faculty and staff;

·         Replenish all forms displayed in the lobby;

·         Serve as point of contact for the postal machine and facilitate mailing requests;

·         Perform other related duties and special projects as requested by the Vice President of Administration;

·         Schedule and manage replacement front desk personnel for lunch breaks and vacation days;
