Modality - Your value and importance in the world cannot be overstated. Genius is a universal gift, akin to the natural phenomena of sunshine and rain. It is fundamental, essential, and should be universally available to all, regardless of their socio-economic status. This belief has inspired my wife and I to devote ourselves to the service of others for over a quarter of a century.
In our experience, we have observed that everyone, irrespective of their background or circumstances, requires assistance at some point. The act of extending help to others, whether it's sharing your food, offering a spare room, or opening your door to strangers, not only enriches the lives of the recipients but also adds a profound sense of purpose and satisfaction to your own life.
However, it's disheartening to witness that much of the hospitality industry today is primarily driven by profit-making motives. The focus has shifted from providing a safe and comfortable space for those in need to maximizing profits. Your spare room, for instance, should ideally serve as a sanctuary for others, a place where they can find peace and comfort. It should not be reduced to merely a listing on rental platforms like Airbnb.
Throughout my life journey, I've been fortunate to receive help from countless individuals. These acts of kindness and generosity have left an indelible impression on me. I vividly remember the time prior to our wedding 38 years ago when my wife and I were just starting out. We were helped by kind-hearted and wise advisers who welcomed us into their homes and educated us, bearing all the associated expenses themselves. They provided us with more than just physical nourishment and a roof over our heads. They educated us, enlightened us, and guided us onto paths that we wouldn't have found on our own, helping us to navigate the labyrinth of life.
Over the years, we've been privileged to have tens of thousands of tutors and mentors who selflessly paid it forward. Their patient, careful, and kind guidance has made a significant difference in our lives. These experiences have instilled in us a strong belief in the power of mentorship and the transformative effect it can have on individuals and communities.
