Introduction: Ordination requires the use of ecclesial eyes, hands and feet in a sacramental-prophetic act since time immemorial. Firstly, the eyes of the ecclesia, in strategic governance of her history, her peoples and progress. Secondly, the hands of the ecclesia, to shape the character of her influences both levitical, non-levitical and extra-levitical and finally, the feet of the ecclesia, to signify the final victory in the war on saints against ancient hostilities.
Strategic governance: Without vision, the people perish but blessed are they who obey the law. King’s College, Singapore ensures a proper interpretive governance of the historical documents passed down from the fathers of our faith. In particular, the essential words in their proper context spoken and written as examples for us who are recipients of a most holy faith. This faith is foundational to our identity based upon the validity and certainty of things asserted for thousands of years.
Character of non-levitical Ordination: While informed by biblical precedent and guided by theological principles, the timing, context and nature of such a prophetic act crystallises the receiving of the mandate and ministry ordained by God in that person or family, by an ecclesia. The ordination extended corporate cover and blessing to each member in the family, affirming the unique place and role of each one, and was in effect a consecration and commission of the family to their missional field and calling - Paul Khoo.
Ordination under Moses: The levitical law makes provision for a new identity to be forged out from a single tribe, among men between the ages of 30 - 50 authorised to act within the walls of the Tabernacle with special responsibilities to obtain, through bloody sacrifice, the atonement and restoration of a people separated from the love of God. Thus sanctioned, the priests who served within the veil were charged by their bishop, the High priest of their calling, to remain faithful in every respect- meticulously, continuously and also according to the pattern shown Moses upon the mountain.
Under Yeshua: In contrast, in apostolic times, we see something new breaking forth from the moment Yeshua submits to ordination by the hands of the prophet John at the Jordan when the voice spoke from heaven: This is my beloved Son, listen to him. This Son honoured the old in John the Baptist and yet inaugurated something new, and in that fulfilment came and brought a most precious gift to the Church. No longer bound in scripted regulation by an all-male priesthood, thus we see Magdala who is allowed to teach the nation of Israel through her hands, her tears and devotion to the Master.
Ordination in Present Time: A non-levitical ordination is in substance a prophetic act operating at the edge of conventional ecclesiastical ministry. It can cause apprehension to those who rely on church structure to order spiritual life, but is a valid form of corporate witness to God's anointing and appointing of people to ministry outside of church structures. The ordination extended corporate cover and blessing to each member in the family, affirming the unique place and role of each one, and was in effect a consecration and commission of the family to their missional field and calling - Paul Khoo.
Direct Assistance to Victims in Trauma (DAVT-45): We now see, male and female, young and old, in whatever vocation and to whichever secular arena one is called to (church without walls) in the same authority with which Moses, Jesus and Paul received, to now govern, to now set in order and to now establish in the earth for His sake and in His Holy Name. This is a hallelujah ordinance for the hallelujah people in a hallelujah day!
