“As I've mentioned before, three weeks ago, in a sudden turn of events, my lawyer and the people involved in my case had a seeming change of heart. The hearings showed they had grown a conscience, and we were now on the same page—to obtain justice for what happened to me. I had no idea what caused this change of mind, but I welcomed it with a blossoming hope in my heart, albeit with caution…

“It took some time for the news to sink in. I had to isolate myself for a few minutes to make sense of what happened, and then another night of isolation to savor the bittersweet victory. In my "alone time" with my Creator, I thanked each and every one of you. Perhaps it was your good thoughts and prayers that He honored. Perhaps He saw how people with good hearts advocated for me when I was losing my faith and couldn't advocate for myself. Everytime I look at this victory, I cannot see an "I" but I see all of us, how God's hand has orchestrated everything between a community of people living in great distance from each other and yet moving in such fashion and sync towards the same goal. I look forward to meeting you all again in person so I can thank you personally. Until then, we continue to pray for the final arrangements here in Vietnam.“
