Abstract

This dissertation explores the concept of giftedness in grade schoolers in the Philippines, through the lens of the 7modalities paradigm, the 7seeds mentioned in Deuteronomy 8:8, and the pattern shown to John in Revelation chapters 2 and 3. The aim is to provide educators with effective strategies to nurture and develop the innate talents and potential of gifted children, allowing them to rise to their fullest potential.

Introduction

The Philippines, a nation with a rich cultural and spiritual heritage, presents a unique context for the study of giftedness in children. This dissertation aims to explore how biblical paradigms can be integrated into educational strategies to enhance the development of gifted grade schoolers. The thesis statement guiding this research is: "I help gifted children to build one nation under God by discovering their own genius."

Theoretical Framework

The 7modalities Paradigm

The 7modalities paradigm is a holistic model that identifies seven key human faculties: the eyes, hands, ears, tongue, neck, head, and heart. Each modality represents a unique aspect of human experience and potential, providing a comprehensive framework for understanding and nurturing giftedness in children.

Archetypes, Endowments, Seeds

The 7seeds in Deuteronomy 8:8

Deuteronomy 8:8 lists seven species: wheat, barley, vines, fig, pomegranates, olives, and dates. Each of these seeds symbolises a distinct attribute and phase of growth, offering a holistic framework for personal and communal development. These seeds will be linked to the 7modalities to provide a biblical basis for understanding giftedness.

7Seeds Modalities

The Pattern in Revelation 2-3

The pattern shown to John in Revelation chapters 2 and 3 reveals seven churches, each representing a unique archetype relevant to the development of gifted individuals. This pattern will be used to illustrate how different aspects of giftedness can be nurtured and developed in children.
