Serving Through Leading and Leading Through Service: A Framework for Institutional Advancement in the Off-Grid Seminary

The principles of "serving through leading" and "leading through service" are fundamental to modern leadership. The first emphasizes facilitating others' success through empathy and humility, while the second focuses on inspiring through selfless service. Leaders apply these concepts by using their influence to support team welfare and motivate through dedicated service. This leadership approach is especially important in the Asia Staff Room (ASR) of the off-grid Seminary, where the Director of Serving Leadership (Hon.) oversees five key areas of institutional advancement.

The Director of Advancement (Hon.) operates at the intersection of strategy and stakeholder engagement, ensuring institutional growth and development. This position is crucial for fostering an environment conducive to continuous improvement, as it involves collaboration with various stakeholders to drive strategic initiatives. By prioritizing the institution's mission and vision, the Director of Advancement exemplifies the essence of serving through leading.

In parallel, the Director of Galleries (Hon.) manages the Sacred Art collections within the Mart Henry Bongabong artist-in-residency program. This role not only involves curatorial responsibilities but also serves as an embodiment of leading through service. By preserving and showcasing art that reflects the institution's theological and educational ethos, the Director of Galleries inspires both the community and visitors to appreciate the deeper connections between faith and creativity.

The Director of Libraries (Hon.) plays a crucial role in aligning library resources with academic goals, particularly regarding the Thesis and non-Thesis C-BAM graduate research methodologies. This position ensures that students have access to the necessary resources to support their research endeavors, thereby facilitating their academic success. The Director of Libraries exemplifies serving through leading by prioritizing the needs of students and enhancing their learning experiences.

The Executive Admin Coordinator (Hon.), often serving as country managers, is integral to the operational efficiency of the Seminary. By managing resources and coordinating activities for Accelerators and Study Groups, this role ensures that various campus programs run smoothly. This position highlights the interconnectedness of leading through service and serving through leading, as effective coordination and resource management are vital for fostering a supportive learning environment.

Lastly, the Director of Academic Formation (Hon.) is tasked with preparing students for graduation requirements, which includes overseeing comprehensive exams, C-BAM entrepreneurship, and the administration of thesis defenses. This role is critical in shaping the academic journey of students, ensuring they are well-equipped for their future endeavors. By focusing on the holistic development of students, the Director of Academic Formation exemplifies both leadership through service and a commitment to their success.

In summary, the synergy among these five areas of responsibility under the guidance of the President is essential for the institutional advancement and effective functioning of the off-grid Seminary. By integrating the principles of serving through leading and leading through service, the institution can foster an environment that prioritizes collective growth and individual success.
